(Sr.) Engineer, Process Engineering
Department
The Technical department is responsible for Integrity, Reliability, Improvement and Sustainability of the entire SABIC site in Bergen op Zoom. The Technical department exists of approx. 45 employees divided over several sub teams.
The Process Engineering team is responsible for Feasibility Studies and Front End Engineering (Conceptual and Basic Engineering) as well as servicing our chemical and compounding operations with short term (troubleshooting) support. There is a strong relation and involvement with Project Management during Design and Execution.
For our Process Engineering team we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and result driven Process Engineer.
Job Purpose & Responsibilities
- You will be owner of projects from development through implementation and follow-up and work closely together with other departments thereby combining solid technical expertise, a sound drive for EHSS and a team oriented approach.
- You BE THE IMPACT through development and implementation of improvement projects in alignment with functional and business goals. In this role, you facilitate opportunities for improvements in EHSS, cost-out, sustainability and energy as well capacity and capability and define these into feasible projects.
- You easily ENGAGE with other departments notably Operations and Maintenance as well as other engineering disciplines within Technical and to a lesser extent Technology and Product Management.
- You DELIVER the conceptual design packages and take responsibility for process design and start-up preparation by taking into account process and machine safety, reliability, operability, quality, planning and cost. You follow up the projects until the objectives are realized.
- You are able to CREATE effective solutions based on good insight and knowledge of engineering unit operations as well as our processes. You are eager to further grow and develop yourself as multi-unit expert.
- You develop yourself and build expertise in the technology of our processes and provide technical expertise in production issue resolution, process design, safety studies and training.
Requirements
- Bachelors, masters or demonstrable equal degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 5-8 years working experience in process engineering and technical projects in the chemical, food or pharma industry. Expertise with solids handling has a preference.
- Process engineering and project management skills at an advanced level.
- Risk based analytical mindset and experience in facilitation and chairing of multi-disciplinary meetings
- Able to build good and effective working relationships with people at different layers in the organization.
- Take initiative to improve and strive for the best result through structured problem solving approach.
- Have demonstrated influencing and facilitation skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English language, both verbal and in writing.
