Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to join our team at SABIC. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting daily operations, driving improvements in production and quality targets, and ensuring the smooth operation of our production unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Operations Engineering, with experience in Petro-Chemical/Chemical Plant Environment.

 

How You Can Be The Impact

  • Support daily operations, including troubleshooting, increasing operational effectiveness and efficiency, and overseeing equipment resources
  • Conduct routine checks and perform complex troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and Root Cause Analysis to identify and resolve performance gaps
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Maintenance, T&I, Process Engineering, and Quality, to resolve performance gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth unit outages and turnarounds
  • Provide primary interface with Supply Chain resources and oversee production plan and high-level production schedule development
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies focused on reliability improvement such as CapEx and expense projects
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including production data and performance metrics
  • Oversee the unit quality and including bad actor resolution process and involve others as appropriate to resolve issues
  • Assume SAP roles as required to support unit operations (PP, PLM, and LE)
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures and condition cards
  • Drive improvements in production and quality targets, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

 

What Matters To SABIC

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 5-7 years' experience in Petro-Chemical/Chemical Plant Environment, with a focus on operations, maintenance, and capital improvements
  • Working knowledge of Process & Production Safety Management
  • Demonstrated experience with equipment inspection technologies and applications
  • Working knowledge of Industrial Codes & Standards (ASME, API, NEC, etc.) is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement long-term strategies focused on reliability improvement
  • Working knowledge of Lean Concepts and Six Sigma Green Belt certification as they apply to manufacturing systems is a plus
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
