JOB PURPOSE
Join SABIC Specialties to drive application innovation through advanced structural simulations. You’ll apply fundamentals of design, strength of materials, and structural mechanics to evaluate and optimize thermoplastic applications for industries like mobility, electronics, healthcare, infrastructure, and industrial markets. Using leading CAE tools, you’ll transform ideas into validated solutions that deliver performance and commercial success.
Job Responsibilities
- Predictive engineering: Lead simulation projects using tools such as Hyperworks, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, or Ansys.
- Structural performance: Apply FEA to assess static, dynamic, impact, fatigue, and creep in thermoplastic components.
- Validation: Align predictive models with experimental data for accuracy.
- Design optimization: Refine designs using simulations to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Problem-solving: Troubleshoot customer challenges with simulation-driven insights.
- Collaboration: Work with global teams to deliver CAE-based design solutions that differentiate SABIC products.
- Material modelling: Develop and validate models for thermoplastic materials
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- PhD/MS/M.Tech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Polymer Science, or related fields.
- 2–5 years’ experience in structural simulations for automotive or industrial applications (EV, AV, battery tech preferred).
- Strong foundation in strength of materials, structural mechanics, machine design and FEA.
- Hands-on expertise in Hyperworks, CAE tools such as Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Ansys, CAD tools such as Solidworks
- Proven ability to interpret results, optimize designs, and prepare technical reports.
- Experience in plastic material modeling and predictive engineering for thermoplastic applications.
- Strong communication and ability to work in a global team environment.
