JOB PURPOSE
We’re seeking a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in tooling, plastic part design, and injection molding simulations. At SABIC Specialties, you’ll use advanced CAE tools like Moldflow/Moldex, Hypermesh, SolidWorks, CATIA to evaluate mold-filling, optimize designs, and deliver innovative thermoplastic applications across mobility, electronics, healthcare, infrastructure, and industrial markets.
Job Responsibilities
- Mold-filling simulations: Lead projects using Moldflow/Moldex and related CAE tools to evaluate and optimize injection molding processes.
- Plastic design & tooling: Apply knowledge of thermoplastics, tooling, and molding processes to deliver robust customer solutions.
- Problem-solving: Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, identify root causes, and provide simulation-driven fixes.
- Collaboration: Work with global teams and customers to deliver processing insights that differentiate SABIC.
- Validation: Align predictive models with experimental results for accuracy and reliability.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- PhD/MS/M.Tech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Polymer Science, or related fields.
- 5–8 years’ experience in plastic application development for automotive or industrial markets.
- Strong expertise in injection molding, tooling, and thermoplastic processing.
- Hands-on experience with Moldflow/Moldex, Hypermesh, and CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA).
- Solid understanding of polymer rheology, strength of materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret results, optimize designs, and communicate technical insights effectively.
