JOB PURPOSE

  • To lead the Instrumentation & Automation team effectively and ensure efficient management of IBMS operation which includes critical safety systems like fire alarms, Gas detectors, CCTV, Access control system, HVAC BMS etc.
  • To manage site R&D automation projects to ensure on time delivery as more no of projects and modifications in R&D are keep on to be executed throughout the year. Delay in the execution may have direct impact on the R&D performance at site.
  • To drive routine Instrumentation & SAP PM programs, SHEMS & Calibration schedules to ensure reliability & uptime of the instrumentation and automation systems.
  • To Identify, develop, and pursue opportunities to improve instrument processes and automation efficiency, at STCB.                                                  

                                                              

Job Responsibilities

  • Scope for Facility based Utility system and IBMS, Pilot Plant and R&D based equipments and Instruments, such as the generation of instrument lists, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&ID, cable lists, etc.
  • Prepare specifications and datasheets in accordance with project requirements to ensure technical and regulatory compliances are met.
  • Design & detailed engineering of instrumentation and automation work Coordinate with instrumentation and automation equipment vendors, to ensure compliance with project specifications. Selection of instrumentation and automation equipment types, cable sizes and protection type and review drawings, calculations, design reports, etc.
  • Review technical quotes, recommend the selection of suitable instrumentation and automation equipment, cables and other system components based on process/project requirements to assist procurement/sourcing team.
  • Take part in inter-discipline coordination work between engineers from other disciplines to ensure quality and interfacing of instrumentation and automation part in larger package supply.
  • Conduct inspection for panels, instruments and electrical equipment, cabling system installations on skids, interface connections, witness FAT/SAT, supervise installation and power turn-on at site.
  • Ensure that all standard operating procedures comply with specifications, quality standards, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Any other assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Organize, control, supervise Facility Utility, IBMS, Pilot plant and R&D equipment overhaul, inspection, servicing program during plant scheduled outage and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Co-ordinate between section and other department of the company as well as contractor for the maintenance work.
  • Plan, organize, control, supervise condition monitoring program for plant and equipment.
  • Issue/Obtain PTW for maintenance work.
  • Review, improve, update maintenance practices to be in line with industries best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze root cause of plant equipment failure and outages.
  • Organize manpower, equipment, tools and resources to repair and rectified failure and malfunction.
  • Test, verify, re-commissioned rectified system or equipment.

  • Safety Integrity Level (SIL) study and Implement at the site.
  • Take lead in SAP PM scheduling, costing, Notification, order and settlement in on time.
  • Organize, control, supervise internal calibration facility for Pressure Gauge, Transmitters, MFCs, PSV, etc., and External calibration vendor for flow measurement instruments, etc,.
  • Develop, track and monitor calibration annual schedule and Implementation based on EHSS and process critical Instrumentation list in co-ordination with internal and external stake-holders.
  • Develop, track and monitor AMC annual schedule and Implementation in co-ordination with internal and external stake-holders.
  • Develop, track and monitor KPI for Instrumentation and IBMS department.
  • Develop, track and monitor spares inventory for Instrumentation department.
  • Prepare OPEX and CAPEX budget requirement for Instrumentation department.
  • Review budget, monitor spending against budget and cost control.
  • Develop and establish operation and maintenance procedures in line with SHEM 03 requirement, risk assessment and method statements for Instrumentation and IBMS maintenance activities to ensure safe execution at the site/Plant.
  • Prepare environmental risk register for Instrumentation and IBMS department and co-ordinate with E&M department EHSS core team member for ISO 14001 audit.
  • Develop and review SHEM 07.03 - Instrument Equipment & Systems test program documentation and Implementation at the site.
  • Co-ordinate and on time report out to SHEM 07 - Asset Integrity Element Administrator to achieve 100% overall site integrity compliance.
  • Co-ordinate and on time report out to SHEM 14 - Security Standards Element Administrator to achieve 100% overall site security compliance.
  • Co-ordinate and on time report out to SHEM 11 - Emergency preparedness and response Element Administrator to achieve 100% reliability and availability of Emergency equipments like Fire & Gas Detection system, Public addressing, etc,.
  • Ensure Incident free operation and maintenance in Instrumentation and IBMS department.

                                            

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS INTERNAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • BE / B. Tech - Instrumentation                             
  • 10-12 Years of industrial Projects Execution and Maintenance with Electrical and Electronics Back ground
  • Instrumentation & Automation along with Calibration standards
  • Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and a high level of numeracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team working skills, with an ability to motivate others and to lead or manage teams and projects.
  • Field Instrumentation & PLC, DCS Automation.
  • Good Leadership
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the Company
  • Working knowledge in MS office suite, AutoCAD and related industrial software applications.
  • Working knowledge in Instrumentation & Automation standards like IEC, ISA, ANSI, API, NFPA, etc.
