SR. SPECIALIST TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING

 

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Contributing significant expertise on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the ability to translate application to industries' and SABIC's specific challenges
  • Identifying required changes and therefore design SABIC's global accounting policies and their guidance and the ability to convince  endorsement from stakeholders
  • Provide timely and clear guidance on the accounting implications of (potential) business decisions or strategic projects
  • Assess the impact of proposed changes to IFRS or amendments thereto and identify the actions required internally to comply with them.
  • Support sr. manager to advocate for the company with standard setters or other governance bodies to elaborate and defend SABIC's considerations and interests.
  • Develop and implement a training strategy to support SABIC's financial reporting community. If necessary, give custom-made training or information sessions
  • Lead training through various mediums, to address the needs of different audiences and learning preferences (such as e-learning, guides to best practice and live meetings

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Significant and proven experience to prepare and defend accounting positions with stakeholders
  • Bachelor or Master degree in auditing
  • Professional accounting or auditing qualification is pre-requisite
  • Experience with application of IFRS and ability to interpret the principle based requirements and guidance  
  • Experience with preparing and providing trainings is a plus
  • Experienced in organizational integration project, able to understand and support organizational climate/culture
  • Experienced in participating in large-scale project, demonstrated successful project planning and execution skills
