Manager Transfer Pricing Operations


SABIC’s Global Tax department consists of 65 tax professionals. The Transfer Pricing / GEM team consists of 12 people based in Amsterdam, Shanghai and Houston. SABIC’s Global Tax team’s strategy is:

•    Ensure that SABIC maintains global tax compliance, protects SABIC’s global asset base and reputation;
•    Partners with the Business and Corporate Functions to manage compliance and optimize decision-making;
•    Enhance stakeholder value and develop with the SBUs awareness of the GEM.


The Manager Transfer Pricing Operations reports into the sr. Manager Transfer Pricing / GEM.

Job Purpose & Responsibilities
The Manager, Transfer Pricing (TP) / Global Enterprise Model (GEM) is a member of the Global Tax Function. The purpose of this role is to ensure TP compliance; support tax control; and partner with the business to optimize taxation. 
The main responsibilities of this role include:


TP & GEM Policy and Processes (including BEPS Readiness Plan):
•    Runs and maintains the TP operational designs for SABIC's intercompany transactions globally (including BEPS Actions Readiness), in adherence to the documented processes, policies and procedures.
•    Actively monitors the compliance and efficiency of SABIC’s GEM globally through effective GEM / TP review plans and reporting.
•    Supports the definition of the strategy and the roadmap for SABIC's GEM / TP technology requirements to enable optimal and efficient management of SABIC's Global GEM / TP compliance processes and early identification of planning opportunities.
•    Supports the formulation and maintenance of all TP related guidelines and processes for compliance.
•    Supports the development and maintenance of an effective GEM policy for all business operations globally.
•    Supports the quarterly reports to the Global TP & GEM Lead relating to TP operations and GEM projects globally, including compliance effectiveness, analysis & trends, productivity & efficiency and action plans; SBU partnering & project status, TP operational optimization status and TP management KPI status.
Global Compliance and Reporting:
•    Safeguards SABIC’s compliance through executing SABIC’s TP compliance processes such as margin review, price setting, year-end adjustment, and Global Cost Re-charges .
•    Develops and maintains SABIC's TP Master File (as required under BEPS) for SABIC globally and manages the preparation and maintenance of local country TP documentation reports and their alignment with the Master File. Manages the accurate and timely preparation of Country-by-Country reporting.
•    Ensure accurate and timely filing of TP disclosure forms and the intercompany transaction disclosure in the audit reports. 
•    Reviews and manages the GEM compliance status of over 700 legal agreements governing inter-company transactions in an increasing regulatory compliance environment. 
GEM Development and Awareness:
•    Prepares and delivers GEM awareness to SBU, IT and other Corporate Functions
•    Supports GEM design, engaging with stakeholders to achieve optimized, compliant and generally consistent implementation and maintenance 
•    Provides inputs to the Global Tax Leadership on the development, management, monitoring and completion of GEM and TP projects 
Stakeholder Management:
•    Engages with SABIC’s Finance and Legal departments in managing SABIC’s TP compliance processes 
•    Builds, manages and maintains strong relationships with external advisers
•    Engages with local tax authorities in managing or supporting the Global Tax & Zakat team to manage GEM/TP related audits
•    Maintains regular contact with SBU/BU regional leaders to ensure effective partnering to manage the SABIC TP/GEM compliance and service provision in line with their needs
•    Bachelor's degree: a relevant subject such Law, Tax, Economics, Accounting, Finance preferred
•    MBA or Masters or equivalent degree in a relevant subject preferred
•    Professional qualification such as Tax Practitioner's Certificate, CPA, Law or ACCA 
•    Minimum 6 years' experience in international tax, TP and/or global business model (GEM) structuring, KSA experience an advantage 
•    Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in the tax/ TP function of large multinationals and/or Big 4
•    Fluent in written and spoken English; multiple language ability an advantage
•    Strong influencing skills and high adaptability and cultural awareness
•    Business understanding and knowledge with global outlook
•    Strong project management skills and analytical thinking
•    Excellent written & oral communication skills
•    Expert knowledge of international TP and tax law, as well as functional analysis and transactional global benchmarking
