Job Summary

The Global Procurement Directs Specialist’s objective is to leverage buys from all SABIC SBU’s. The part of their function is to engage all levels of procurement organization from local to regional and segment the buy. With support from Global Category Management, define strategies based on current volume and future growth and negotiate pricing and commercial agreements with suppliers from all regions. A special responsibility within Global Directs procurement is to ensure uninterrupted supply for all SABIC manufacturing plants around the globe (24x7) in which global category specialists needs to deal with all complex & diverse (internal/external) supply issues related to customers forecast/planning, suppliers performance issues, force majeure events (earthquake, fire, storm, etc.), customs issues etc.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Contribute to defining and supporting Global Category Strategy that supports the profitability and growth of SABIC
  • Drive global sub-category plans and strategies in alignment with the needs and objectives of all SBU’s and Affiliates
  • Provide inputs into overall Global Procurement Strategy and ensure effective implementation
  • Ensure compliance to the policies and procedures related to the respective global category, Global Procurement and Shared Services
  • Adherence to the policies and procedures related to category management
  • Vendor Management

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • University Degree (Master/BS) in engineering, Finances, Supply Chain or Business Administration
  • 8 years’ experience in the petrochemicals or in an industrial environment
  • 3 years’ experience of managing a similar function in a petrochemical or industrial organization
  • Proficiency in communication.
  • Ability to develop and execute procurement strategies of global scope and complexity
  • Good effective communication skills across a multi-national and cross-functional organization
  • Able to independently & proactively deliver in a complex internal & external environment
  • Excellent negotiation skills
