To support manufacturing management site Geleen in achieving these objectives we are looking for an EHSS Manager to reinforce our EHSS SABIC site Geleen department.

 

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

*Optimizing the implementation of EHSS policies within the various production sites of, Geleen site.

*SABIC Leading a team of safety professionals (AH; HVK, TA EHSS Engineer and Transport Safety Specialist) and ensuring safe work practices at the site.

*Professionally advise, and actively support, SABIC management and operational staffing towards continuous improvement of the safety performance.

 

Tasks and result areas

*Leading, directing and coaching EHSS Engineers and SHEM analysts.

*Developing, implementing and optimizing Health and Safety-related programs, projects, processes and training courses with the aim of improving EHSS performance.

*Actively participate in various networks such as Site EHSS team meetings, Culture Network, Health and Safety Network, Chemicals Management Network.

*Incident follow-up: ovide substantive contribution to incident investigation as appropriate (including facilitation of the RCA/team investigations) and stimulate the organization to learn from the incidents.

*As owner/manager (Element Leader), implement, audit and optimize elements of the Operational Management System in the field of Incident Management (OMS 318), Industrial Hygiene (OMS 3110), including assurance of local laws and regulations therein.

*Point of contact for Site management on safety and health-related issues and as Subject Matter Expert on various topics (Culture and behaviour change, HFAT, OMS316 safe work practices, OMS 3113 transport safety).

*Identify, develop and implement improvement initiatives in the area of EHSS,behaviour and cultural aspects.

*Responsible for continuous improvement in contractors' safety performance through various initiatives: chairing SABIC and Partners SHE officers monthly meeting; improving contractor onboarding processes; identifying and implementing theme-oriented EHSS activities together with contractors.

*Improve safety performance through safety inspections, field checks, risk assessments, project management of safety projects. 

 

Management Responsibilities

- Is part of the EHSS Management Team.

- Responsible for coordinating and prioritizing the team's activities within its own work area on a daily basis to achieve work objectives.

- Provides guidance and advice to team members on issues related to own work area. Escalates problems to the manager if and when required.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Academic/HBO working and thinking level

- Preferably a completed MOSHE or HVK education, at least 5 years of work experience in similar management position and work environment

- Tactical and strategic communication skills and able to act as SABIC's EHSS representative at different levels (internal and external).

- Experience in inspiring a team up-to an organization towards a learning organizations in the area of EHSS as well as developing innovating EHSS programs.

- Providing requested and unrequested advice to management on EHSS aspects.

- Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, both written and oral.
